FONDAM performs all activities with absolute transparency. In all the invitations made, technical procedures and criteria are established to guarantee the suitability of all the processes before reaching to the final list of winners.

The consulting processes during a tender are made in writing on the dates previously established, and FONDAM’s Technical Committee is the only body with the responsibility and the authorization to respond to them. FONDAM’s personnel is forbidden to respond to any query, doubt or observation, which is not channeled via the previously defined mechanisms.

In accordance with the provisions in the regulations, FONDAM’s activities and administrative accounts are evaluated through an annual external audit performed by an independent auditing company according to international standards. During 2001, 2002 and 2003, Price Waterhouse Cooper carried out the corresponding audits, with the following report:

“In our opinion, the above mentioned financial statements were reasonably performed in all significant respects, such as the Fondo de las Américas-Peru´s financial situation as of December 31, 2001, 2002 and 2003, the managerial results and the cash flows for the year ended on that date in accordance with the generally accepted accounting principles.”

Additionally, during July 2003, Fondo de las Américas-Peru received the team of appraisers from the USAID-USA (United States Agency for International Development) and WWF-US (World Wildlife Fund) within the framework of the Assessment General Program that are prepared for the Funds for the Americas. This team expressed their satisfaction for the work performed and for the advances accomplished to date.

Likewise, according to the stipulated thing in its mandate, FONDAM presents an annual management report to the Governments Founders showing the main tasks developed by our institution throughout the preceding year.
